#lesson3 While discussing vygotsky’s theory of the zone of proximal development (VPD), I believe that children respond and learn best with the collaboration of other students rather than adult guidance. When volunteering at a daycare, i observed certain situations where a child
needed help completing a task (for example, finishing a arts and crafts assignment, baking a cake, etc). There were times where I helped the child, an adult/teacher helped the child and where a child of the same age helped. I concluded that children worked and responded better
while working with children their own age. I believe it is because the “lesson” is simplified and seems more possible since it is being done by someone their own age. (end of thread)
