Self-ID just shows how strong structural patriarchy & misogyny are. If there was true equality, women's rights wouldn't be toyed with like they were in these vastly different societies. Malta, Colombia, Argentina, Portugal are very different from Scotland, Belgium, Ireland 1/4

and Denmark. And yet, they all adopted self-ID. Conservative, poorer countries are, actually unsurprisingly, more likely to accept trans than LGB because they view transition as a conversion therapy. Plus we know that Argentina and Malta used self-ID as a diversion from their 2/4

rampant corruption & nepotism. Socioeconomical differences are stark, but the common denominator are corrupt, arrogant (mostly male) politicians (supported by their handmaidens) & reckless disregard for the rights of women and children. And ofc, none of this would've been 3/4

possible without the influence of incredibly rich and aggressive trans lobby groups. Thanks to them, the legitimate goal of protecting people with GD who needed transition gradually & far from the eyes of the public became an ideological war on reality.
