I have news!?

As of next week, I will be a Senior Associate with @Coqual_, an organization focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion research and consulting. I am very excited to learn, grow, and help other orgs improve their DEI culture!
I also wanted to say that the process of finding a job over the last year, especially during the #Pandemic, was *rough*, as I am sure a LOT of you are feeling right now.
There is a line in @jeffrosenstock& #39;s Nausea which goes: "I got so tired of discussing my future/ I started avoiding the people I love", and that has been me for much of the year.
Separate from the increasing number of crises that we are all dealing with on a daily basis, I spent a lot of my day looking for a job. Which was exhausting and demoralizing, and deeply deeply boring to *me*. I didn& #39;t want to talk about or think about it, but it was ever present.
And when I felt like I wanted to reach out or connect with someone, I often stopped because the last thing I wanted to do was to inevitably start talking about the fact that I was in a bad place, and that felt even worse.
This has been a bad year...and it probably will get worse. And for those who are feeling stuck, sad, and alone: this does suck!! It is hard to see an & #39;out& #39; or a & #39;through& #39;. At the same time, you are appreciated and loved, and also the individual difficulties are real and matter.
