Good afternoon everyone. As promised the social worker Mr Dumbu visited gogo and here is the narration (thread) he brought back (in his words) . Please try your hardest to help gogo and the kids if you can with whatever you have. We ONLY access gogo thru him +263 77 272 0816
Mr Samson Dhemba was the one who received Mahinzu/Chisare and secured a piece of land for her the Lands Committee under the Min of Lands. He was leader of everything until recently when a new Chieftainship was installed, the Neromwe Chieftainship.
Chief Neromwe then installed his Village Heads and the Village Head of the area is one Hove Chiwenga. Hove Chiwenga retained Mdhara Samson Dhemba as one of his aids.I have met the village head Mr Hove Chiwenga in the presence of his aide Mr Samson Dhemba and
I was assured with all forms of support convenient in attending to the plight of Mbuya Mahinzu. I gave him the US$10 Traditional Token which he shared with his aide.

*Clothes:*
1. Mbuya Mahinzu - dresses size 36 on big cuts, 38 on small cuts. Shoes size 6/7 depending on cuts.
2. Eldest daughter- dresses size 32 on big cuts and 34 on small cuts. Shoes size 5.

3. Eldest son (7yrs) clothes size 7-9yrs. Shoes size 3.

4. Youngest son (5yrs) clothes size 5-7yrs. Shoes size 13.

Mbuya Mahinzu has 3 very old blankets which is sharing with her grandchildren.
The blankets are as good as nothing. I am sure washing them next will leave them shread-torn. Literally they don't have blankets.

These plates, cups and pots make up a complete kitchen for Gogo. If they were drinking tea, one would have to wait for the other to finish.
Far right is my motorcycle which is use for my extension work. The nearest School is Ratidzo Primary School which approximately 3.5-4km away. That's the School attended by almost all the children in the area.
There is no available means of transport besides going on foot.
Only the 16yr old daughter has a birth certificate. The 2 sons don't have. The nearest Registration Office is at Chiredzi which is approximately 18km from Gogo's place. Means now need to be sought especially now that both the father and mother have deserted the children.
It is now a right, at Zimbabwean law, for each child to have identity documents. Affidavits commissioned by any local lawyer or letters from the village head, Councillor plus 3 credible witnesses will present option 2.The nearest borehole is 2.5-3km away.
That's their only available source of water. She showed me 1 leaking plastic drum (leaks at above half of its height) which she uses to store water
The water table in the Lowveld is very close and dependable. From 15 to 20m, drills often catch the water table.
Very few go up 30m or more.

Drilling companies are available and I can make a scan of the costs by enquiring from 3 Drilling Companies available here in Chiredzi District. They often do a good job as they compete for clients.

The Food situation is bad here.
They got a 10kg bag of mealie meal from a well wisher. Yesterday she was given 2kg flower from a church member. I brought them 2 loaves of bread and one of the loaves made up their lunch with mahewu (without sugar).
Vegetables are difficult to come by and at times she eat sadza vachiseva mvura ine munhu. She is living a terrible life. Shockingly she is so strong daily she is busy preparing land for the coming rainy season. Murume chaiye pakushanda
