Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is an absolute disaster of a show; the animation, storyline, character development - everything except the music is a total mess. A cheap show that entirely compromised the very most history-rich characters created by Walt Disney himself.
- A THREAD 1/6
Clubhouse lacks the inventiveness of a show like Blues Clues, the integrity of Sesame Street or Mr. Rogers, or the sardonicism of SpongeBob - attributes that gave each of these shows their uniqueness. 2/6
Clubhouse is entirely generic - the exploitation of the classic characters is the only thing that separates the show from the here-today-gone-tomorrow Saturday morning cartoons of the 90s and 00s. 3/6
what makes nearly every Disney show and movie special is their ability to create a world for the characters to live in. From premium films like Aladdin to less-premium modern shows like Vampirina. Clubhouse had no such imaginary universe - just bright colors and plain sets. 4/6
the shows only redeeming quality were the two theme songs (the official theme song and ‘Hot Dog’ which concluded the episodes). Both songs created by the two time Grammy Award winning band They Might Be Giants - 5/6
CONCLUSION; Disney should have the Pixar team recreate the show as a Disney Plus exclusive. With the quality animation and storytelling we’ve come to expect from Pixar, return some dignity back to these vintage characters. 6/6 END
