On September 2015, Decheng Capital seeded Cirina founded by Professors Dennis Lo, Rossa Chiu and Allen Chan of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The Founders inventions around plasma DNA created a foundation and tool to detect cancer early, when it can be cured.

In fact, their technology principles had already revolutionized non-invasive prenatal testing having been adopted in more than 90 countries and used by more than seven million pregnant women every year.

After 20 months of building Cirina, we were fortunate to find a partner in GRAIL who shared our vision and decided to merge and combine forces. GRAIL took the promise of early detection of cancer a step closer to reality and accelerated the product development timeline.

Today with the acquisition by Illumina, we are confident Dennis Lo’s breakthrough technology will have a global impact in saving millions of lives offering humanity a second chance at life.
