"Halala Mfazi" wamasimba!

There are several things that confuse and anger me about this post by @SportArtsCultur

Thread: https://twitter.com/SportArtsCultur/status/1307982017133514755">https://twitter.com/SportArts...
Truth is, if it weren& #39;t for the fact that I am an artist who has been privileged to work internationally, I would have had ZERO! income this year! Did I apply for funding launched by the DSCAC earlier this year [YES!], did I receive any response, to this day! [NO!]
This reading happening at the Gotherburg Book Fair is a result of my partnership and relationship with cultural ambassadors in Sweden, not because of the South African Arts & Culture Department. [clarity is key here!]
It has become apparent that the @SportArtsCultur have become professionals at tweeting and congratulating artists and adding @NathiMthethwaSA to the mix to make it seem like they are champions and philanthropists of the Arts here in South Africa - But it is all a Photo-opp hoax.
Celebrating artists online is not the same as funding the arts.
Celebrating artists online is not the same doing your job.
celebrating artists online is not the same as valuing artists in reality and supporting them in ways that matter.
The time that it took to make this post and @ me, would have been well spent by acknowledging my relief fund app from March, and to also point folks to the Black Girl Relief Fund, started because Black, Queer, Womxn Poets [like me] are not supported and funded by this dept.
Let me make this clear, My reading at this Book fair has nothing to do with your heritage month programme, I am not reading here because of you, for you, or representing you!
Person in charge of socials or posters - had the time and energy to find this picture and put it on a poster and @ me on all my social media platforms, but in the same breath could not include a line about my relief fund initiative - as a way of pointing readers to it?
To be celebrated by the @SportArtsCultur and @NathiMthethwaSA is to be paraded in an open casket with pallbearers you paid for. We are dead to them, and they are dead to us - except when we are visible overseas.
My challenge to the @SportArtsCultur and @NathiMthethwaSA is this:

outside of social media, how else could you celebrate me and make the work of a black, queer, women artist visible?
Instead of engaging
@SportArtsCultur and @NathiMthethwaSA remove this tweet.

Still does not change the tea!
