A friend of mine was fired from her adjunct position because she made a spelling mistake during class. Students complained. She taught for many years at the freaking Sorbonne. But, she's not French or white...
She's really upset (she agreed to this tweet) 
Note that it is illegal, especially because the university didn't even make her sign a contract in the first place (very common in French universities).
French universities:
This type of adjunct position pays very little (under minimum wage).
She was fired from another university (but before that she taught several years at the Sorbonne - just in case people would argue she deserved it).
