A friend of mine was fired from her adjunct position because she made a spelling mistake during class. Students complained. She taught for many years at the freaking Sorbonne. But, she's not French or white...

Note that it is illegal, especially because the university didn't even make her sign a contract in the first place (very common in French universities).
