Why always mctominay's poor positioning affects the right wing and shackles pogba?

Yes pogba was poor against palace, but he was also poor back in july when again mctominay(39) was beside pogba. Something here tells that mctominay isn't a cdm

When mctominay/fred played, mctominay would be the box to box while fred was the cdm. He flourished in that role

With pogba, mctominay is a cdm where he is not good. His ball progressing and positioning is poor. Reason why pogba has to stay deep while playing with mctominay

Manutd vs Sevilla- Pogba/Fred

Notice how the shape is perfect with the right positioning of matic(31) or fred(17) in each match.

Positioning of the cdm is very important. With matic or fred playing beside pogba manutd are more balanced on the right wing and pogba can move forward. That is not the case with mctominay as cdm. Mctominay should be utilised as a box to box midfielder
