Yeah I showed up at your party - let’s talk abt the chap

Ok so firstly unlike the other the title in this one it’s a complete lyric and also seems to have the least relevance with the songs. The title even seems random at first .lets see my interpretation

It also: does not have a B&W cover like the others. It’s coloured could it mean sumn (see the invisible string )

we do know it was written after Tay performed Betty at the Acmas
We all thought Taylor “showed up at the awards party“ to perform the song - maybe this way the songs on this chapter will be played lived here she “shows up “ at the award shows ( is she giving us too many signs?)

In my head I see this chapter tied with 3 themes following the lyrics
1. the dramatic cliche of losing your loved one - showing up at the last moment in attempt to fix or wanting someone to show up to your party x basically entering and leaving someone’s life

2. The feeling of not being wanted(at a party)
3. And parties in general

Notice how in the title is “Yeah” I showed up at your party and not “but”. This particular line comes at the end (the key change ).
Yeah showed up at your party
Will you have me? Will you love me?

These lines r more anxious and desperate sounding than the chorus esp in the live version

Let’s see how this ties on with each song

Well this song is p obvious there’s no need to explain

1. The 1

Here love is lost . Perhaps if they had shown up to the party (made amends) it could’ve been different .

But they didn’t and there’s no way to for them to enter the others life(party) again. separathe lives. Now with new family they have parties w/o them( rose -the wine= wine parties

1. Mirror ball
I’ll get you out on the floor , shimmering beautiful Masquerade revellers
She’s the entertainer trying to fit in at everyone’s party (life)-trying to be wanted and loved. But despite mirroring what everyone wants she feels unwanted in everyone’s life

The whole theme of if showing up at a party and would anyone want me is highlighted here - the concept of mirrorball or disco ball is very party - esque

1. Tlgad
The parties were tasteful if a little loud
card games with Dali

in this Rebekah the loud,wild woman shows up but she’s shunned and hated by society and no one in the town wants her . This lead to her to give up on that whole Rhode Island set .and having her own parties with her bitch pack . - this song clearly fits very well with the theme

1. Invisible string
Pulled me out of all the wrong arms right into that dive bar
All along she was waiting for someone to show up at her party and show her that she was loved and wanted. The 1 who stayed making life bright like a party

since only this chapter is coloured it could be cause of this song - he brought gold and colour into her life

1. Cardigan
Standing in my front porch light
Here he shows up at herparty - to win back his love. This song along with Betty tie into chapter

He tries to come back into her life making her feel loved and wanted
