Democrats. However, I think people aren't quite getting who @CottoGottfried is talking about. He is talking about the old money and new money (from small businesses and working professionals e.g. small time attorneys, doctors, accountants).
The old money had their money already obviously and the new money obviously worked hard to get theirs but both groups believe in the principle of noblesse oblige. They understood that without the working people none of what they had was possible.

This thread has already gone on too long and I feel like I am mind reading @CottoGottfried but I think I've captures the spirit of his argument. I hope this helps people understand what conservativism really is because it's less Goldwater and more Nixon than most people know.
