imma do this 💘 i might go into more depth ab certain characters just cus i love character analysis!! sorry if i spam ur tl </3 https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919063139454976
imma first say that it takes a lot for me to hate characters so,, yes keep that in mind
i adore him. deku is such a great mc and his development from the beginning to now is really moving! i didnt think a lot of him at first, but i was really happy to see an anime protag who felt more human to me. https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919072316674048?s=19
cont/deku
theres a lot of mcs in animes that are headstrong, unbreaking pillars of courage & strength, + while i still appreciate and enjoy those stories, i really do love it when mcs have more moments of "weakness." they feel more relatable 2 me + i become more attached to them!
cont2/deku
obviously i think theres more growth in store for him. one thing in particular that im excited about developing are his views on hero society and how they will change once he learns more about not only the members of LOV but villians in general
i love him. his development in the story is also v significant! i didnt always love bakugou + im definitely in a weird spot bc i watched heros rising before i caught up w the anime and manga. my first real impressions w him were overall positive! https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919079623077891?s=19
cont/bakugou
in the beginning, bk's overwhelming presence + behavior was a turn off 4 me. of course at this time i didnt realize the depth & serious themes that mha was going to get into, so i worried tht bk was just going to be the "asshole" character. hori def proved otherwise!
cont2/bakugou
while bk is still on his path of redemption, its clear as day (esp if uve read the manga) that hes come very far. his relationships w ppl have improved as well as his view of himself. bk's moments of "weakness" where his walls fall are heartwrenching yet so powerful
i love her. uraraka is undoubtedly a sweetheart + a great friend. though she doesnt have a strong arc like the former characters mentioned, shes still significant! ive always had a favorable opinion towards her bubbly attitude as well as her human moments https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919091744616449?s=19
cont/uraraka
her moments in the sports festival were my favorites. i loved how they showed her nervousness as well as strength when facing bakugou. her loss was emotional for me and seeing her cry on the phone w her family felt very real
cont2/uraraka
i believe a lot of ppl can relate to her frustration in some way during the sports festival arc. her motivations for becoming a hero also felt very human to me. though its believed that heros should be driven by the goal to save people, i felt her reasons made sense
cont3/uraraka
i felt it was perfectly reasonable for her to pursue hero work as means of making money to support her family. her worry about not having an "honorable" reason to want to be a hero were very relatable in a way
i adore him. kirishima is a character whos easy to empathize with. at first, his mentioning of "manliness" worried me because i didnt yet understand his meaning of the word. commonly, manliness is associated with the lack of emotion and i disagree w that https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919099768373249?s=19
cont/kiri
after seeing his arc, my worry completely dissipated. his moments of anguish and lack of confidence were heavy and proved to me that kiri was much more than what met the eye, and i was so happy to see him depicted as emotional
cont2/kiri
its all too common where male characters are shown to be emotionless and very surface level --- this is very damaging. i think mha did wonderfully depicting male characters by having deku (who cries fairly often) as well as kiris background
cont3/kiri
i also just have to say that his battles were so badass (like his fight w rappa). though his quirk is relatively simple, hes so strong + capable of much more than i first thought. he also is the first real person that bakugou acknowledges and i think thats so wonderful
i like him. kaminari is someone i wasnt sure about at first. his behavior towards women was irritating to me but the girls didnt seem to be uncomfortable around him, so i figured that was telling enough. he knows the boundaries + doesnt overstep them https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919116470104067?s=19
cont/kaminari
i think hes much smarter than people let on. to me, he feels quite like sokka from ATLA. though he has an outwardly comedic depiction, kami proves himself in battle multiple times (despite going into his "whey" mode afterwards)
i love her. season 4 served her so well. jirous worry for disappointing her family yet insisting on what she wanted to pursue were very easily something many people can connect to. her many musical talents coming to light was so sweet to watch https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919126414733316?s=19
cont/jirou
i find it funny how if anyone watched the season 4 opening, youd think shes the main character, LOL. her interactions with the other students and her relationship with momo is super heartwarming
i love him. todoroki was very nearly my favorite character. his and iidas arcs were a transition into the darker themes of mha. todos relationship with his family were sensitive and tear jerking https://twitter.com/killuasfork/status/1305919136376254465?s=19
cont/todoroki
he is much more than just the son of endeavor with a very powerful quirk. his scenes with his parents, especially the ones with his mother, felt like a stab to the gut.
cont2/todoroki
i rooted really hard for todoroki in the sports festival, and despite knowing it was unrealistic, i wanted him to win his battles without using his fire (or what he deemed to be his fathers side) because i empathized with his spite and resentment
cont3/todoroki
even though i wanted him to win without his fire, i knew it wasnt right for him to do so. him using his fire wasnt so much a "surrender" but rather an "evolution" -- realizing that quirk was *his.* dekus involvement in this was also so important
cont4/todoroki
his growth & later teaching of the message "never forget who you want to become" resonated with me. theres quite a lot i could say ab him but for the sake of this thread i'll leave it at this. (i plan on having a place for my Super in depth analysis another time)
