I kinda wanna vent about this a little bit cause its been seriously bugging me for a while. I tend to follow trans and lgbt allies in order to keep transphobia away from my timeline. If I dont follow any transphobes, then i wont see that kind of shit, right? Well...

The most constant form of transphobia came from a trans persons account, not because they are transphobic, but because they keep reposting transphobes and giving them a platform/attention through their reposting, thus exposing all of their followers to the transphobes as well...

I love their content, don't get me wrong. They're not a bad person in the slightest, but the way they handle this kind of negativity is honestly leaving me feeling personally more distressed and frustrated, even when the assholes commenting are successfully "owned"...

It just saddens me that the biggest source of phobia is from another trans person on my timeline, and I honestly cant really handle seeing it anymore. I do hope that they can work through the issues theyre having with the people attacking them, and I wish them the best of luck...

Also for the record, im not attacking them in any way. Im just a bit sad to be honest. This issue is pretty identical to cis people reposting a certain writers bullshit in order to "dunk on them" and exposing trans people to her bullshit...

If anything, take this thread as a bit of constructive criticism. If you surround yourself with lgbt people, or other minorities for that matter, it would be better to quietly report and notify others to block to keep away the toxicity.
