The thread that I promised you to write about. I think this might be my last thread on this business stuff. The JYPE's Building bought back in 2017.

June 1, 2017: Down Payment: 2.2 billion krw
July 3, 2017: Intermediate: 6 billion krw.
August 1, 2017: Final: 12 billion krw.
Registration Completetion date: August 4, 2017.

Summary of f/s before and after the purchase/merger.

They took the money from quick asset because they paid this in cash. Cash and Cash Equivalents are in current assets, in quick assets. You can see they took 20 bkrw out.
The 2nd quarter end on end of June, but they evaluate and bought the building before that ending. Their calculated f/s then only cover 1Q and 2 months of 2Q. This is their 1Q's current asset. It's below what's reported up there because it's only Jan - March.
Cash and Cash Equivalents however is matching to the cash amount of the building. But remember they had down payment for June, then another installment in July, and then finalized it in August, all paid by cash, so they took it from there.
Their Retained Earnings( Reserves) in half year 2017 was: 16,495,773,060 billion krw. Not enough to cover such a building. This is their half year 2017 f/s. And this is their income statement. Net Income double that of 1Q. Take a look at everyone's schedule around this time
And you will figure out who earns the most for this building. This is the sales performance charts for half year of 2017. GOT7 do not have any international distribution so all their sales have always stay in domestic.
For shows, the f/s stated that indirect shows are with foreign labels (signed to a foreign label), and domestic sales are direct sales. So whichever show is through their foreign labels, then would be in the export section. Whichever is directly through JYPE, then that's domestic
The bulk of GOT7 sales are all domestic sales. Which I've noticed through all the years f/s, including quarters and half years, the domestic sales are always much much bigger on a lot of the categories from this company. Even when G7 has a packed JP's schedule!
That lead me to believe (and I later found out, updated through their f/s) that the foreign labels take bulk of the revenues if they incurred the costs of productions and promotions. So JYPE earning is more 'domestic' than overseas, but it's because it is produce by company.
GOT7's shows are mostly produce directly by the company. Don't let record sales fool you, they incurred more costs than concerts. Anyway, moving on, the building added 7.9 billion krw in renovation to its value in Nov of 2017.
The end date of this renovation was in Sept of 2018. You are foolish if you don't think GOT7 contribute in heavy bulk to this building. Their schedule in 2016-2018 secured this building. The company's RE in 2016 was 7 billion krw. Yet they went and bought a 20 billion krw
building paid in cash a few months in 2017? You think such a business is a damn fool to spend that much on a building, paid in 3 installments, in cash by August nilly willy? They weren't rich, but they have back up in this bg touring throughout the year.
And they planned for the World Tour in the year after. They felt safe enough to invest in a building while still have enough fund for the other comeback. Check and see schedules of everyone and see where their tour dates are placed in this year.
A simple reminder, ticketing is always a month ahead of those shows and they'd be in advance payment, which would be in Cash and Cash Equivalents and the company can recognized it in advance. Remember where they take the cash to pay for that building?
I think with this thread I have covered almost everything, so it's a completion in someway. I hope the fans of GOT7 have a bit more confidence in them, in their ability to sell and that they are much wanted outside of this company. This one company is not the end all.
Especially more when they contribute so much but never getting the full recognition. When they receive a slight recognition it is shared and made into something not significant when they helped a great deal in building up a reserve, a new building and more money in the reserves.
This is a very lucrative bg to have in the industry. And there are and will be many eyeing them due to their high profit margin value that JYPE is taken advantage of. If you love them, believe in their abilities. Good luck to the group and the fandom.
