ok so i’m going to rant for a bit: so i was talking with a friend today and we were talking about our relationships with ourselves and it made me realize a few things:
1. this may sound easier said than done, but do things that you enjoy. not only that, but do them because they make you happy. no one should be able to take that away from someone, even our own selves.
2. we need to stop normalizing being okay with being told what to do- especially if it’s something that we aren’t comfortable with.
3. stop waiting for things to get better. nothing will happen if you aren’t actively trying to change the situation. the only way to move forward is to start taking the steps. even the smallest decision can make the biggest impact in the long run
4. we need to be looking out for each other. reach out to your friends. tell them how much you appreciate them, even if it isn’t with words. ask them how they’ve been lately. small actions like this can move us to forming a comfortable community of friends.
5. it’s okay to not be okay. everyone has their ups and downs. some may be more polarized than others, but we are all in this together. everyone here is so valid. don’t be afraid to speak out for something that can benefit yourself (as long as it doesn’t hurt others)
6. everything is relative to a situation. someone could be living another person’s dream life, yet still be unhappy. that is okay. there is no way to compare two situations like this because of endless lurking variables. one person’s emotions are just as valid as another person’s
so in conclusion, take care of yourselves. i love you all <3
