Let's talk about the Artificial Intelligence market.

Can you get a job today? How much can you expect to get paid? Is this even worth it?

🧵👇
First, keep in mind that multiple disciplines fall under the same umbrella. The lines between all of these positions are still somewhat blurred:

▫️Machine Learning Engineer
▫️Deep Learning Engineer
▫️Data Scientist
▫️Data Engineer

👇
Here is the average base salary for each one of these positions in the United States:

▫️Machine Learning Engineer: $145k
▫️Deep Learning Engineer: $179k
▫️Data Scientist: $122k
▫️Data Engineer: $130k

Remember, this is just base salary, not counting stock or bonuses.

Take a look at the attached map. Notice how many states have no reported data (black color)?

The popularity of these positions is still not universal. The same happens across the world. Tech hubs have most of the jobs.

AI/ML is still out of reach for small companies. Only recently, mid-size companies have begun to start using it.

Successfully applying it is still very expensive, and unless you are a big corporation, it represents a significant investment.

👇
A lot of people have mentioned that they can't find enough positions where they live. I get it. It's going to take a while.

Unfortunately, in third-world countries, it will take even longer for that market to grow bigger. Look at the attached map.

👇
But here is the thing: we have made so much progress that I expect the field to explode even more in the coming years.

Remember all of those small and mid-size companies? Yeah, they will have to catch up, and who do you think will be there to help them?

👇
If you can, a great way to find a lot of work in is freelancing. Many big companies are hurting because of the lack of talent available, and they are resorting to freelancing platforms and offshore companies to get work done.

👇
Whatever it is, this is a fantastic time to start in this field. Everything is still new, fresh, and there is tremendous upside potential for those we get ready for what's coming.

Don't wait.
