Have you ever wondered while performing Havan or Yagya, why does the Pandit ask you to chant Swaha. Well there is a reason behind this.
So lets start....
1) SWAHA:-
Actually Swaha is incarnation or a part of Bhagwati Maa. It so happened that although the havi or offerings through Yagya were given but the devtas were not able to feed on this and they remained hungry in the early times.

The hunger stricken devtas went and complained to Brahma ji about their constant hunger. Brahma ji,realizing the state of distress of the devtas, Started the aradhna of Shri Hari.
Shri Hari,in order to help the devtas called upon Bhagwati while keeping Brahma in his mind.

He requested her to become the burning power or energy provider of Agnidev, since Agnidev was not able to convert the offerings into Bhasm. So from that day every person who chants the name of Swaha after each mantra,that aahar or food goes to that particular devta.
Swaha devi, as she is known, then went on to do tapasya for one lakh years. Shri Hari gave her the boon that she had to take birth as Nagnajiti, the daughter of Nagnajit. She would be marrying Agnidev, who definitely would adore her. Devi Swaha agreed.
She happily married to Agnidev and gave birth to many Agni's such as Dakshinagni, Garhapatyagni etc.
From then on chanting of Swaha was essential for the Yagya/Havan to be complete. Always do the worship of Swaha,chanting this mantra
ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं वाह्रिजायायै स्वाहा ॥

2)SWADHA:-
While chanting of Swaha was essential for any Dev puja,the offerings of Pitra devtas is made chanting the name of SWADHA.
Brahma created the seven Pitra devtas or our forefathers, whom the devtas too worship.

Out of seven,four were visible but the remaining three were in energy form. The purpose of this was that we have to worship Maa Bhagwati in any possible form otherwise we are not fit to be called as humans.
So just as devtas were hungry in absence of food,even the Pitra's were facing the same dilemma in the earlier days. They too went to Brahma and complained. Then Brahma, understanding the plight of Pitra's created a Devi as his daughter through his mental strength.
She was very attractive and beautiful. He offered her to the Pitra's. She is known to be Wife of Agni Dev
So from then on,for every Pitra Puja,while making the offerings the chanting of SWADHA is compulsory in order for the offered food to reach

to that particular Pitra as Swadha is their energy converter .
Even Pitra's were happy with this arrangement. Devtas too make these offerings while worshipping Pitra's. She should be worshipped by following mantra...
