It’s so strange to me that people still don’t understand what Jungkook’s role as main vocalist means. Yes, it means he often get significant parts in songs, particularly choruses since he’s also center, but he also does so much work behind the scenes.
He’s credited on so many songs taking care of the chorus and we know he records guides for both BTS and mixtape projects. He also does a lot of the harmonies, backing vocals, layers, and adlibs. That is HOURS in the studio.
He also is counted on to help the other vocalists - he’s given them advice and even backed them up or sang their parts if their voices weren’t in good condition.
When he did his lip sync video for Dynamite, he knew the ENTIRE song even though it’s in English. Why? Because he likely recorded the guide and we can hear his harmonies basically through the entire song.
Jungkook was selected as main vocalist so young because he was already a very consistent performer with fundamental skills. He nails his lines in every performance.
He was wanted by 7 companies, among them some of the most successful companies at the time. He has the SKILLS and DEDICATION to be main vocalist and always has.
If you’ve watched any Run episodes that involve singing, you’ll hear at least one BTS member compliment Jungkook as their main vocalist. “Oh of course he’s good, he’s our main vocal.”
His positions were and are earned by his talent and his role as main vocalist is not as simple as getting lines in recorded songs. He puts in SO much work and you can tell because he’s so comfortable with the producers.
So please, understand why crediting him rightfully as the main vocalist is so important. He really gives his everything and the LEAST we can respect his positions and what they mean.
This is why it’s important to watch the other content BTS puts out. The lives, Run, documentaries etc all spell this out. And Jungkook has PLAINLY stated that he wants to be known as the main vocalist. So please also respect his wish.
