I’ve already tweeted about this once, but let me tell you in detail why I don’t want more haunted house previews this year.

1. Two houses is a perfect number for getting a feel of the event, but not giving the whole thing away. If you show off more, you make 30 less special.

2. Where do you figure the budget for next year is coming? Attendance is slowly doing better than it’s lowest, but it’s not great. They’re not gonna tear these down houses because a couple thousand people saw them. So there will be repeats. I am 95 percent sure these will be.

3. Haunted Houses are ridiculously expensive to pay for, especially for a free event. Four houses seems very cost prohibitive.

4. I don’t want to see Beetlejuice, Icons, or any other mazes I’m excited for the first time under these precautions. I want that full impact.

This is a great event, I hope more people get a chance to share in some Halloween magic. These houses are special and deserve to be seen by everyone next year. For those of us who are local, we are fortunate to get a small taste. Let’s enjoy that instead of pushing for more.
