What a false equivalence. Black Women’s hair is so political. “It’s just hair” until it’s BW with our kinky afros.

Are non-black women getting barred from jobs because of their natural hair?

No.

Are non-black women berated since birth about their natural hair texture? Are they told their hair texture is “nappy?”

No.

I don’t understand this thing where y’all patronize BW for our natural features and then chastise us when we alter them to assimilate.

But also non-black women do wear weaves that don’t look like their hair. They wear weaves that don’t match their natural hair color. Y’all are just really obsessed with trying to get Bw to hate ourselves.

It’s getting weird.

My natural hair is beautiful but it’s also a lot of work so I’m quick to slap a wig on. BW also don’t just wear wigs of looser textures. We wear weave that looks like our hair too. Like.....
