#AgEconTwitter - what is your opinion about the naming conventions in our departments? This is something I’ve been wondering about for a while. For example- what do you think the shift away from calling them “agricultural economics” and toward “applied economics”? 1/n
I really like “ag and resource economics” and that’s what I put on my resume bc 1) I don’t know a lot about food econ (the f in @MSUAFRE) and 2) my research deals with the consequences of ag production on nat resources so I had to learn about both.

Also I think that “agricultural and resource economics” really sums up a lot of what our depts do in a nice way without moving too far away from the really rich and unique history of agricultural economics departments in America
