it's interesting to me, a bi asian american, that western stans are so vehement about which k-pop idols are gay and which ones are het when gay culture is different around the world. what may ping on the gaydars of lgbt+ asians may not ping for lgbt+ westerners, and vice versa

of course, i'm a hypocrite, as i hope my bias is a wlw when she's probably straight and just likes dressing up as an e-girl while singing to kehlani

i'll never know; i'm just looking for representation where i know it's not going to be, only bc i want more lgbt+ asian media

if anyone somehow finds this thread and has recommendations of lgbt+ films featuring asians and/or other poc with happy endings (such as the handmaiden, the half of it, rafiki, etc.), please recommend them
