I normally tweet some of the funny things my residents say to me during shift, but here is a thread of some of the things they’ve said to me since I told them I put my 2 weeks notice in:
*one of my residents who I have taught some slang*
“Say sike right now”
“Say sike right now”
“We are no longer friends”
“I will die without you”
*broke my heart ngl*

“If you leave, can you take me with you? I’m ready to burn this place”
*one of my dementia residents*
“You have two weeks to live? I’m so sorry...”
Me: “...sadly no, I have two weeks left of this job.”
“You have two weeks to live? I’m so sorry...”
Me: “...sadly no, I have two weeks left of this job.”
“Whatever, I will see you at my granddaughters house for dinner next week”
“...okay but you’re still coming to lunch with our family this Friday right?”
Me: “yes of course”
Them: “okay good. They want to talk to you about why you are a democrat”

“Is it because I called you and asshole? I didn’t mean it I swear. That was my way of telling you I love you.”
A resident who was so so close to my heart just passed away yesterday. Last Sunday when I put my 2 weeks in, he was the first to know. He said to me, “Well I’m going to miss you... But we’re still going to get married on a Friday right?”
Everyday he would ask me to marry him
