Promised “we’re in this together” or “I’ll never leave you”.
It’s survival mode meaning, you associate other people to being let down. You develop this “if I don’t have to depend or lean on anyone, it won’t hurt when I’m inevitably let down or abandoned” mindset. Enter: hyper-independence.
