I& #39;ve been thinking of my friend David (pictured seated) since he passed away last week.
What advice he& #39;d have. His go-getter attitude. His wisdom & humour.
How much he wanted & saw culture change happen in LTC & retirement homes. How he saw it slide back during the pandemic.

David remained a determined, involved advocate & living example through it all.
Always doing what he could. So appreciative for help & support. Encouraging me & others to keep going when life is hard.

Working as a collaborative team, having open conversations & inspiring others were important to David. So was his family.
The staff at his LTC home became part of his family, like they do for most residents & their family & friends. They empowered him to be a teacher once again.

David knew the value of the Designated Care Partner Program I have the honour to be part of with a noble group of LTC homes & complex continuing care hospitals. More will be shared on it.
