I just received a phone call from a number I didn't recognize. I didn't pick up (as usual), but I received a text from the same number, saying, "I found your wallet."
Before I could call back, they called me again. I picked up and a man introduced himself as Jason. He let me know that he found my wallet at an emergency pull-off on the highway (which is exactly where I pulled over last night to let the kids use the bathroom after a long hike).
I didn't even know my wallet was missing.

He told me he was about 15 minutes away from the address on my driver's license and would be happy to drop it off. When he arrived, he handed me the wallet through his window.
I had a lot of cash and all my personal & business bank + credit cards, and a quick glance showed me that it was all there. I offered him some cash for his troubles, but he refused. I offered again to give him at least gas money, but he refused again.
He said, "Pay it forward… God bless," and he drove away.

What an amazing act of kindness. In light of the state of the world we live in, I'm encouraged that there are kind, Christ-like people still out there. Thank you, Jason!
