It is important to differentiate panic attacks from anxiety attacks, because they are not the same:
Panic attacks come on suddenly and involve intense and often overwhelming fear. They’re accompanied by frightening physical symptoms, such as a racing heartbeat, shortness of breath, or nausea.
An anxiety attack, people may feel fearful, apprehensive, may feel their heart racing or feel short of breath, but it's not long lived, and when the stressor goes away, so does the anxiety attack.
