Here's my own view on revenge:
I approve of revenge...when others carry it out.
It's not in me to get revenge.
Revenge is when you PERSONALLY make someone pay for their transgressions.

I've seen too much darkness, but that means only that I MYSELF avoid it.

Getting revenge against those who have knowingly wronged you for genuinely evil reasons is fine.

Similarly, I have no opinion on the death penalty. I can live with either life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

If forced to sit on a death-penalty jury, I would listen carefully to the judge's instructions and make my decision based on the FACTS and the arguments of my fellow jurors.
