- when’s the last time that you feared for you and your family’s lives when you were near any police, even though you haven’t done anything wrong?

- when’s the last time that you didn’t know your ancestry because your ancestors were slaves and their owners didn’t even care enough to keep a record of where they were from?

- when’s the last time that you had almost no representation of your race in the mainstream media?

- when’s the last time that you were followed in a store just for simply being there and shopping?

- when’s the last time that someone assumed that you were not from your home country, solely based on your appearance?

- when’s the last time that your parents struggled to find a children’s book that showed what you looked like, so that you could look up to them?

- when’s the last time that you were stereotyped by the general public as being violent and/or a criminal?

- when’s the last time that you could simply say that you “don’t see color?” by the way, yes, you do.

- when’s the last time that you could ignore racism because you had a stressful day and didn’t feel like thinking about it?

- when’s the last time that you struggled to find people of your race in almost any given space?

- when’s the last time that you had to specifically look for a hairdresser that could cut/style your type of hair?

- when’s the last time that you messed up on something and had someone say that it was because you were of your race?

- when’s the last time that you were told that you were attractive for your race?

- when’s the last time that you idolized a celebrity of your race, not because you particularly loved them, but because they showed you that people like you can make it?

- when’s the last time you or someone of your race could mess up multiple times and basically be a piece of shit and still be in a position of power?

- when’s the last time that someone of another race was portrayed as a savior just because they like people of your race?

- when’s the last time that you had trouble finding a foundation/concealer that was even close to your shade?

- when’s the last time you had a bandaid that was somewhat similar to your skin tone?

- when’s the last time that you had to act 2x as professional as everyone else in a situation because people of your race are often considered unprofessional and lesser in the workplace?

- when’s the last time that you had to google how a certain country’s people felt about people of your race before traveling there?

- when’s the last time that people made fun of those who like music made by people of your race?

- when’s the last time that someone said that it’s hard to tell people of your race apart, even though you have extremely distinct and different features?

- when’s the last time that you were a minority in your country?

- when’s the last time that you felt out of place when you were with your friends or family of a majority race?

- when’s the last time that you had to put your race in front of a google search for certain people, styles, etc.?

- when’s the last time that you were in a position to say that white privilege doesn’t exist?

these are based on my experiences and thoughts as a black american. i am aware that all of these these may not apply everywhere or to everyone. i am firm in my beliefs here, don’t even try to argue.
