Up first as usual are our player heatmaps, and straight away it raises talking points. The inclusion of JRC over Nyambe at right-back on Saturday was not only something nobody expected but also a stroke of tactical genius from Tony Mowbray
You can see the difference in the amount of time and space the full-backs got here across differing games. The full backs were needed much less in defensive areas and JRC's ability to cross, shoot and create is superior to Nyambe, who's much better with his defensive abilities
Possession wise it was men against boys, #Wycombe chased shadows all game, with #Rovers having 71% of the possession, nearly 4x the amount of completed passes and an incredibly commendable 81% forward pass accuracy %.
Much of this was down to the excellent Lewis Holtby, who absolutely ran the show when Rovers had the ball. Catch some of his link up play in this short video below, which is just a snippet of his involvement in #Rovers build-up play on Saturday!
Attacking wise it's great to see Rovers outscore the Expected Goals figure, something we've often struggled to achieve. Wycombe's 0.42 is extremely low, & Darragh Lenihan and Derrick Williams deserve a lot of plaudits for their defensive work
Really impressed once again with Tyrhys Dolan, who absolutely bossed the right wing areas, popping up everywhere, tracking back and completing some fantastic stats for such a young player
Here's 55 seconds of @TyrhysDolan10 simply toying with the #WWFC defence 👀🔥
Wycombe's downfall was their naivety in their high-press. They tried and failed to put Rovers defensive players under pressure, but when the pink-highlighted Lewis Holtby got the ball, his ability to turn quickly and split the midfield caused them problems for the whole game.
In-fact, Wycombe's midfield was practically non-existent, once #Rovers broke the high press, as they did on most ocassions, it was a stroll in the park for the midfield three, who succeeded in the absence of ever-beloved Lewis Travis

We can't ignore the amazing @AdamArma9 who deservedly grabbed his first hat-trick in Rovers colours. We've run out of superlatives for the Angel of The North, simply incredible, keep doing what you're doing!
#Rovers managed to act potently, & put their chances away, a team-performance to be proud of, but most importantly a performance that's been brewing over the last few fixtures. Fans will be hoping the togetherness and drive of this squad can continue for the rest of this season.
