🧿 NEED TO SAY

I joined Twitter 10yrs ago but became active on Twitter Aug 2020. I became active as a method to vent in response to several family members views on politics. For over 20yrs, and still to this day, I do not discuss politics with family & friends. Those family
members are very Far Right Conservatives, some are Racists in denial. Those family members consistently make derogatory & blanket statements about Democrats & Liberals, against Blacks, against LGBTQ, etc., but still believe themselves to be Good Christians. I rarely make
comments of any kind against things they believe in, especially politics. And UFOs. And countless Conspiracy Theories. I laugh in silence, sorry. The thing is, they truly believe they respect me. They don't. They only respect that I'm a blood relative. But this thread is not
about them. It's about my friends. While my family know my personal & political views, my friends only suspect. I don't feel the need to make declarations and they don't need clarification. We're friends, we respect each other. I want my friends to know my statements on
Twitter are not a response to their beliefs, my posts & retweets come only from my frustrations with family, not friends. I know that's cutting a fine line but it comes down to this: I respect anyone's beliefs as long as they respect mine. My friends respect my beliefs,
(most of) my family does not. So I vent.
