Important reminder that you feel like shit because things are objectively much shittier than usual and you’re not alone in being laid out by it. https://twitter.com/latimes/status/1301523092112637954
I was prescribed antidepressants along with my ADHD meds in November because depression often accompanies undiagnosed ADHD. Despite years of beating myself up because I couldn’t accomplish tasks that seem so easy for other people, it was hard to think of myself as depressed.
In April, I increased my dosage. I’m still coming to terms with depression being part of who I am, but given ALL THIS? It scans!!! And I just wanted to share— talk with your doctors. Even if it’s not how you see yourself, it could be something you’re experiencing.
This is a great point— my meds are also supplemented by weekly talk therapy, that’s been a part of my life for 3 years. If there’s a way to add it to yours, I cannot emphasize strongly enough how much I think EVERYONE would benefit from it. https://twitter.com/candy_rain76/status/1307711021872799746
But I really almost think the diagnosis is as important as the meds. Just knowing: what you’re experiencing isn’t a personal failing. It’s a medical condition you are working through that lots of other people are struggling with as well.
Also, for what it’s worth, I’ve been using these cute citrus pill cases for seven months now. They do not feel STURDY but they have held up well, I can throw them into my toiletries bag when traveling without fear, and their cuteness compels me to use them more.
