So my friend stopped by 2 days ago and caught me staring at my Electricity Meter.

He said 'you have become Obsessed'.

I admit this is true.

So here's another Power Consumption #Thread
The thing I keep repeating is do an energy audit.

Go and look through all your equipment, find the Power ratings, and see what is eating your power.

Find this Sticker on all Your equipment.
So let me gist you guys the one I discovered this week.

Because I am obsessed, and I have been monitoring, I went and got this device.

Its an Energy Monitor Meter

I got this for 2 reasons:

1. I like gadgets.
2. The power rating strip on my Chest/Deep Freezer was missing.
So I discovered that my deep freezer was running a constant 150w perpetually.

Light has been steady, so it was using the light 'constanta'

I became concerned, even ACs, e get where them go cool reach, e go off the Compressor, this one was freezing forever.

Me
So let me now tell you what I discovered.

Most Freezers have a Fast Freeze button.

'The fast freeze facility on a freezer is basically a button you press its used when you need to freeze large amounts of fresh, unfrozen food. The faster food is frozen, d better the quality'
IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE ON FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS.

MINE HAD BEEN ON FOR 5 YEARS!!!!!
So technically speaking, what happens is that this effectively tells your compressor, ignore the thermostat.

Freeze this thing.

Freeze it!

I say Freeze it.

Constantly, unendingly.
FREEZE IT!

Even if everything is frozen?

Freeze it
Anyways, so I switch off Fast Freeze and Consumption dropped to Zero, and whenever the Freezer is frozen, the compressor turns off.

Here's an example.
Anyways, thanks to this and my Solar Switch from @e_akale , I have effectively cut my monthly consumption in half.

What we did is, we shifted our Daytime load to Solar, and then Nighttime from Grid.

Anyways, talk to you later.

Grace to you
