THREAD
This new bill now allows farmers to sell their produce to anyone (including unlicensed buyers) and anywhere (any state/city without any need of mandis). Don't hype up that APMCs will be extinct or middleman bad. This benefits them too as those middlemen traders can buy
1/n
produce at lower costs (no APMC market fees, local taxes, etc) and then sell it in their native APMC markets.
Remember that not all APMCs are only farmer-trader market, but majority of APMCs are trader-wholesalers/retailers market. Farmers are not in every mandi
2/n
Only Major APMC mandis have farmers, rest all APMC mandis are in further distribution chain of Traders/wholesalers.
This new bill will benefit majority of these wholesalers and traders as they won't need to buy from farmers thru APMC, but directly, and sell in their APMC. 3/n
Only ones to take hit from these bills will be the licensed traders in those major APMC mandis where farmers come to sell, as they had created a monopoly in being the bridge between farmers & other wholesalers/traders.
This bill is massive benefit to 80-90% in the trade chain
4/n
Will reduce the prices of produce for traders and give more price benefit to farmers, as there'll be no unnecessary taxes and fees adding trader's cost.
Savings compensate for the expenses of cleaning, loading-unloading, transportations.
5/n
This benefits all - Farmers, Majority of traders, transport and labour sector.
Competition will increase within the chain but don't buy the crap that APMCs will be redundant and middlemen bad. Because they're all the beneficiaries.
