I write this as I’m looking at today’s work to-do list just to prepare for a few days, while I think about the things I’m not doing with my son. The beginning of the school year is always like this but I think the pandemic has made me more aware of how much mom-time I sacrifice.
I don’t write any of this because I need a pep talk or reassurance of the work that I do. I want other teachers/parents to know that I see them. That they are not alone if they are feeling the immense guilt and uncertainty about how to make it through this year.
