I was just looking through my camera roll and came across a funny memory. Around this time in 2016, when I pulled out a dishwashing pod, two were stuck together. When I pulled them apart, one of them squirted directly into my eye. Like, the entire pocket of gel...all in my eye.
It was horrible. It burned so bad. I stuck my face under the kitchen sink and tried to wash my eye out, but because the gel is so condensed, it wouldn’t really wash out. I went to the urgent care.

At the urgent care, they tried to flush it out with bags of saline.
It was hilarious because they did not have the proper equipment for this at the urgent care, so they just stood over me with an IV bag and squirted saline in my eye.

My entire shirt was SOAKED because their aim was not the best, along with this technique as a whole.
Urgent care got to a point where they said their was nothing more they could do, so they sent me to the emergency room at the hospital.

My eye was looking worse and worse and I could not see out of it.
At the emergency room, they put this device in my eye that is like a huge plastic contact with a tube shooting out liquid attached. Like, an entire piece of plastic in my eye.

This was wild. And hilarious.
They did that until almost midnight and finally flushed out all of the dishwashing detergent, but they’d messed with my eye so much it was swollen shut. Very cute. 😚
They prescribed an eye patch. The next morning I had a certified restraint training to attend and showed up like this.
There is no moral to this story except maybe if two detergent pods are stuck together, let them be together and don’t try to pull them apart.
