đź’«MY ART STYLE INSPOđź’«

a thread
Hey! I'm here to share a bit about my art journey and reflect how I got here. Feel free to comment your own art inspo as well, i'm curious!
1. I started to take art seriously in hs. Before discovering these two, my art was cringey and... VERY animu. I learned from cyarine to pay more details to facial features, and picolo inspired me to do cool scenes, um, "lineart".
2. There was a time when I was very, very influenced with awanqi. I used softer colors and heavy paint. I did this for a long time in my hs days. Now it's too mellow for my taste, but I still put awanqi in high regards if I need inspo for "celestial" art pieces.
3. Literally my hs days filled with incoherence. Lolimoog (she changed her ig handle but i forgot) inspired me to use louder color palettes, but at this time i got no art direction. Everytime I see a cool artist, I try to copy them. I got no identity.
4. Fast forward to uni!! I got hit with a terrible art block that lasted for months. I hated everything I produced and I got tired so easily, so I don't do painting as much. When I see juliette brocal and cassandrajp's works, I was mind-blown.
4.5. Their linework is so effective. They're simple, yet complicated at the same time? I aspire to be like that :0
5. And speaking of mind-blowing colors. They inspired me to use more purple hues, haha. Purples are neato.
6. I think those people are the ones who really impacted me (if we list all of them there won't be an end to this thread :D). I think moral of the story is: art style is a journey. Try a lot of new thing before finding your own voice.
Lowkey wanna tag some mutuals to ask them their art inspos haha. But what about you? Who inspired you?
