1/ Mission: As per their website: Donate used books to less fortunate. Provide children a “Narrative” of Diverse books carefully curated. Provide *children* LGBTQ material. Note the Guidestar Seal of Certification.
Guidestar is a NonProfit Listing repository advertising “Seal of Transparency” data for NonProfits. In Feb 2109 they “merged” to form a NonProfit called CANDID.

3/ A disparity between Guidestar/ CANDID “transparency” data and IRS data (under the Charities/NonProfits search field) exists. In this case, The Childrens Book Bank has only 2 years of Form 990’s as per IRS records (today). Yet, they were granted NonProfit 501c3 status in 2008.
Guidestar purports to be a one-stop repository of Transparency. No need to wade thru IRS records. EXCEPT - the data is merely added to enhance their LISTING. Which is an honor system. Look at the names of the Leadership at the helm and their affiliation to fund “Social” programs:
Facebook, Rockefeller, Sage...
Jones: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation...DuPont...
