Yesterday we did the 20 Years of @TfL #OpenHouseLondon walking tour, but I realised when we were handed the itinerary that I could rename it the Boris Johnson's Failures Tour and regale my Rule-of-Six-compliant gang with one relevant Mayoral failure at each stop on the tour.
First stop: Palestra, TfL HQ which used to be HQ for the London Development Agency. In the early 2010s Boris Johnson failed to stop his friends in government from abolishing the LDA, losing our city an important strategic organisation #OpenHouseLondon https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/say-goodbye-to-the-london-development-agency-6531785.html
Second stop: Waterloo bus garage, home to bus routes 507 and 521. These unique routes shift huge numbers of commuters short distances – ideal routes to use high-capacity bendy buses. They were the first Boris Johnson withdrew bendies from due to his very expensive personal grudge
Next stop: Embankment station and pier. Also home of Cycle Superhighway 3, a segregated cycle lane. Boris Johnson's failure here was not delivering those but the cyclists' deaths when he was resisting doing more than paint on roads – and blaming the dead https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycling_in_London#2013_deaths
