So uh,,, this mural by Scot Lefavor went up in Denver at the crushed walls mural festival today.
It looks like it's supposed to be an anti-fascist parody of the Nazis who marched on Charlottesville 3 years ago but what it mostly effectively communicates is fascist symbolism.

One HUGE problem with this mural is that its unclear whether the artist is a Nazi or not.
There are a lot of Nazis very critical of Richard Spencer and the polo wearing fash
Those same Nazis were critical of the alt-right for not using symbols like the SS bolts and 14/88

At the end of the day, this artist painted Nazi SS Bolts, 14/88, and "All Lives Matter" without providing nearly enough context or framing to indicate that this is parody.
This could very well be read by a pre-2015 Nazi as a mural against "fake" Nazis like Richard Spencer.

If you're going to make anti-fascist artwork, please make sure it's clear what side you're on.
We're DEFINITELY not saying Scot Lefavor is a Nazi.
Please don't get that twisted.
But we are saying this wall would look a lot better with an iron front on it.
