Starbucks drink recommendation thread, by somebody who likes good drinks but hates having to make big crazy over the top 500 calorie pure sugar tiktok drinks (i.e. no barista will ever resent you for asking for these)
1. Pumpkin Spice w/ 1 pump of Chai
PSLs are nice but they can be kind of one note sweet. Add a bit of chai and you get a nice spice kick without compromising on the core Pumpkin Spice flavour. If you really like chai, just get a straight up pumpkin spice chai, they're good too!

2. Raspberry Mocha
This isn't a weird or secret drink by any means, it's no more complicated than a peppermint mocha, but it's never really been advertised as a standard or seasonal drink offering so it's not a common order even though it's SO good? Get it!!!

3. Sugarfree Vanilla Matcha Latte
The matcha latte by default comes with a really plain sweetener which can be switched with any other standard syrup for free. My favourite is hazelnut, but sf vanilla wins for cutting calories WHILE tasting straight up unambiguously better.

4. Don't order a dirty chai!
This isn't a recommendation so much as helping with price. A dirty chai is a chai latte plus an espresso shot. However, a standard latte comes with espresso default and adding pumps of chai costs WAY less than adding shots. Ask for a latte with chai.

5. Kiwi starfruit with green tea instead of water.
Starbucks refreshers are a concentrate that depending on the specific drink ordered will typically either get mixed with water, lemonade, or coconut milk. Using iced tea instead adds no extra work and it's a really nice flavour.

6. Peach tranquility tea latte
London fogs are nice, but I personally find the combination of citrus (the bergamot in Earl Grey) with milk to be weird. However, we can make essentially the same drink with any tea you want. The peach tastes particularly delicate and sweet to me.

7. Strawberry chocolate frappucino
Do I even need to explain why strawberry and chocolate goes well together? Ask for a strawberry frappucino with 1 or 2 pumps of mocha. This doesn't come with any coffee, but honestly I recommend against mixing the strawberry with coffee.

8. Elly's "get through the shift" drink
Venti iced latte with two pumps of chai and three pumps of hazelnut. I mess with the ratios occasionally but it's always espresso, chai, hazelnut, milk, and ice so it's cold enough that I can just chug it. Sweet and caffeinated.

9. Try the oat milk!
This isn't a specific drink rec, but seriously. It's not like it tastes like dairy, but it is the most neutral tasting and textured alt milk by a long shot. Please be open minded with it, it is SO worth your time to try.

10. Cinnamon Almond Foam Cold Brew
This is an official Starbucks drink! Cold foam is usually thick and heavy, but almond milk doesn't form a suspension, so its light and pleasantly frothy instead. Not overly sweet - ask for syrup to be added in the cold brew if you want sweeter!
