While I think there is a kernel of truth to this tweet, it lacks nuance in these areas:

1) Violence can be a face slap or a nuclear bomb. Just saying “violence” does not indicate scale. These different outcomes will create varying degrees of violence with more optimal outcomes. https://twitter.com/olgagikharev/status/1307495376610443264
2) I could be wrong but the subtext to this tweet & similar ones is that this is an indication that somehow it’s a reflection of what’s wrong with people. As if people used to be good & now we’re broken. THIS is what people do when there is a feeling of disenfranchisement.
When there is a feeling of injustice or inequality. I say “feeling” on purpose because that’s what is about. Emotion is WHY people do things. It’s our motivation. Which is why I get annoyed when people try to explain away riots as a moral or logical failing.
Riots are inherently illogical. It’s a mass emotional breakage. If you don’t change the oil in your car, it will beak down.

Social unrest is a sign of social neglect. You have to tend to that grievance, whether you think it’s valid or not.
I think rioting & looting is stupid, destructive & counterproductive but pinning it as a moral failing is about signaling how fucked up those people are & how civilized you are. It’s the right wing version of saying “all Trump voters are racist”. Which is saying “I’m not racist”.
See what I’m saying?
The inference here isn’t that people riot when there is a deep rooted social issue, it’s that there is something wrong with those on the left. You don’t have to sympathize with broken people. Read the comments to see the right really feels. It’s sad.
The left thinks just as poorly of the right by the way. Both sides have utter disdain for the opposition and think they are true villains. This is a cataclysmic predicament.
