Okay so so I have an interesting story for y'all.

I found this US Air Corps pocket bible in an antique shop in Lewiston, NY today, and I've been trying to figure out who it belonged to, and potentially if they have living family to return it to.

Let's do some research.
So where do we start? We have a name, a home address, and we know what branch Edwin served in.

That emblem on the front is from the Air Corps, and Oak Park is a town in Illinois.

So let's go search through some NARA records and see if we can find some data on Mr. Kitow.
I've got like 30 tabs open at the moment so I'm just gonna use this thread as a sort of archive.

Let's start with the results from our NARA / FamilySearch; searching through Draft / Enlistment records brings back nothing for Kitow so... was he not enlisted?
Searching through the NARA's AAD brings back an interesting result; a death certificate and... an internment record.
