Being confident in your singlehood is a struggle when you live in a society that’s so damn relationship driven. So many people wanna know how you’ve been and what’s new- but if that doesn’t include a romantic update, it’s not that exciting.

It’s also interesting how people project their desperation to be with someone on to you. Folks be more worried about you finding someone than you are. Y’all realize that’s odd right...?

I feel like this hits differently for women too, because who are we without a man to attach ourselves to amirite?! You got family side-eyeing you b/c “you ain’t gettin any younger” and peers lookin at you funny b/c you’ve been single “too long” it’s so uncomfortable.
