I’ve evolved on this thought.

All Black people who work a traditional 9-5 need side-hustle income. I used to regurgitate the notion that nOt EvErYoNe WaNtS tO bE a BuSiNeSs OwNeR.

Today, the need for us to own businesses is a hill I will die on.

(A lil thread)
4. “Not everyone can be a chief”

We all have strengths and weaknesses and there are ways to fill these gaps. Side-hustle income doesn’t have to be an individual sport. If you’re lacking in organization or management skills, how about partnering with someone who has those skills?
5. “There are risks of being a boss.”

Sure. I’m not even suggesting that everyone needs to exclusively be self-employed. A traditional 9-5 can be a way to fund your business, be a safety net against risk and provide benefits for your family. It’s called side-hustle for a reason.
6. Black wealth is a fraction of white wealth. This is largely attributed to inequality in wealth distribution in America. The government hasn’t even paid a second stimulus during this pandemic—don’t hold your breath for reparations. We still can not fail so it’s on us. Cheers.
