like, do you know how many Americans have always known they’ll never have retirements or fucking Roth IRAs? and yet they’ve still gone on living and having kids and grandkids
if getting a patio and new hardwood floors when you’re 60 was one of your life’s dreams then maybe you have a skewed idea of what a good life is?
like yeah we’re gonna struggle more collectively but plenty of generations have done that and still found joy in family and other things??? idk I just don’t understand this take
I grapple a lot with having kids vs. no kids in the wake of climate change, which adds an unprecedented challenge for modern society, but in the end people will keep reproducing so imo you may as well try to contribute some decent humans to the world
