As a lawyer in the @ACLU Women's Rights Project, I work in the house & entire field of law that RBG built. She has inspired me- her strategic vision, recognition of how gender inequality harms women and men, landmark decisions/ dissents in VMI, Olmstead, Ledbetter, Shelby County.
She changed the world so much for the better.

She also fell short in serious ways. Her record includes deeply troubling Indian law decisions, and she rarely hired Black law clerks - itself a lesson for how progressives have long failed.
As a litigator, I care about SCOTUS. I was honored to help achieve a 9-0 decision striking down patenting of human genes, and have filed many amicus briefs hoping to advance justice and equality (one cited by RBG!). So the loss of RBG, her intellect, and her voice hit very hard.
But l also know that SCOTUS is not where justice is truly achieved. That happens in community, in coalitions, in movements.
So, as we continue to fight, I will be thinking about how we can learn from her legacy, which the wonderful  @galenleigh lays out beautifully, and even more intentionally lift up movements as the core of our work.  https://twitter.com/galenleigh/status/1307362308243554304
