[ haikyuu ]

hi! so. this whole enstars and haikyuu comparision thing has been finding its way into my tl and there's been a lot of arguing happening over the original post that i wanted to cover for those who may be confused on what's happening.

more below +
if you don't know what the original tweet was that caused all this, here's the post! i blocked out op's name as i don't want people looking her up and harassing her/those in the replies any further.
op's post shows to have an image of enstars characters' faces edited overtop of the haikyuu cast - likely for comparison purposes. the joke is meant to touch on the similarities between the characters. otherwise, a completely harmless joke.
its important to note that op is new to anitwt. for this reason, its close to impossible for her to have known that this joke did upset people within enstarstwt. there's no way she could've known that comparing these characters was an overused joke that people didn't like.
personally, i didn't see ALL of the replies and qrts that involved this post, but from what i had seen, there was a lot of arguing amongst those in enstarstwt and anitwt, both for their own reasons which i will touch on below.

i won't be sharing any screenshots of these replies.
it started with those in enstarstwt finding the post.

not everyone showed their distaste towards this post directly, but i did see some people replying/qrting op's post with phrases such as 'delete this op', 'no', and other similar phrases meant to show distaste to the edit.
to those of you that did that: yes, i understand, the joke is overused and can upset you. that, however, is not a free ticket for you to harass op in her replies/qrts and telling her to take the post down because you don't like it. you can simply move on, and no harm is done!
there were also a few replies that were politely and respectfully explaining to op how the joke upsets enstarstwt. these replies weren't harmful in any way, instead attempting to explain why there was distaste being shown towards the post in the first place.
those who replied informatively didn't do anything wrong, and were just trying to tell op about how enstarstwt dislikes the joke that was made. no attacking, no aggression.

and then people found those informative replies and attacked those who were trying to be respectful.
attacking someone for trying to explain why the joke upsets them is unnecessary and only fans the flames. they were being respectful about it. why do you have to reply and start harassing those who were trying to be informative?

you don't have to understand why they're upset.
maybe you're not into enstars, or you don't care for the context. but that isn't a good reason to attack those that had no ill intention in explaining enstarries' perspective on the joke. you're only harming them in the process when they didn't intend to hurt you.
i can't say much on those who replied under tweets asking op to delete their post as that's a different story, but those arguments that do break out underneath the original post are still harmful in their own ways - both to op and to those involved in the arguments.
regardless. with all of this arguing happening over the post, op had come back to see all of this arguing and negative attention under her post, and ended up apologizing for offending anyone that came across her post. she wasn't aware of what would've happened by posting it.
all of this arguing happened over a harmless edit. i really don't want nothing more to happen in regards to this joke as there's no reason to be arguing over it in the first place.
if you don't like the joke, you can scroll past it, block, move on instead of harassing op.

if you see people trying to explain the context behind why some are upset, you can read what they're saying, agree/disagree and move on without replying with anything harmful.
what main points do i want to pull from this?

op didn't do anything wrong, those who got upset at the joke didn't need to reply and harass op, and those who came across informative replies didn't need to harass people who were trying to be respectful.
my apologies is some of my wording was repetitive in some cases! im hoping that my intentions came across.

the purpose of this thread is to be informative, and to make sure those who may be confused know what's happening/clarify things for those who do know what's going on.
thank you for taking the time to read this! i hope this helps clarify anything that might've been confusing for anyone, and i hope that any arguments revolving around this will come to a close.
