A thread to record some non-linear, randomized, un-conventional thoughts about 2020 NC State football before the season gets going. (1/)
It can't get worse than last year. It literally cannot get worse b/c if we have the same amount of injuries as in 2019 then we actually won't have to play. COVID gives you an out if you don't have enough players at a position group to field a team. Let's just claim COVID! (2/)
Don't be surprised if Bailey Hockman ends up at QB. Hockman was not nearly as bad in 2019 as many think. Heck, he at least won a game. Devin Leary's shortcoming are not physical talent; but, there is a lot that he still needs to show. (3/)
Tim Beck's presence may be what Devin Leary needs to break out. Beck prefers QBs that can run some and Leary has some wheels. Beck also will do a much better job of scheming, rolling out and protecting Leary's shortcomings as he develops. (4/)
Our offensive line will be special if they can avoid injury. These five guys can be VERY good and get better as the year progresses. This will be the key to the offense as it also will greatly help whomever is under center. (5/)
Like the OLine, Ricky Person will have a breakout year IF HE CAN FINALLY STAY HEALTHY. At this point, many forget the enormity of Person's talent. This will be the first season he actually starts healthy. (6/)
