|Tracks deconstruction|

Champion:
Talks about expectations of being something that you don’t are and having a good life. This track enfatize in the seek opportunities and how we want other people to see us.
Champion-Reprise:
It tell us the story about two persons that are separated from each other, prolly due to the search of a better life, following the theme the first song stablished.
Fly:
This track talks about addictions and how the substances can clear our minds during a creative process. The lyrics threat the current artists as a copy of each other, telling us they’re lack of new ideas (1/2)
This last topic sounds more as a catharsis from the authors, a way to express their personal problems and their growing addictions and how they want to make good music and fill expectations, at least that’s my personal interpretation. (2/2)
Facts:
This track talks abt how the money and the success can change our mentality.
Redrum:
It’s about selling your soul to the devil to be successful and better than anyone else, forgetting your moral and being consumed by a constant war with your head and your old ideals.
Lock N Key.
It´s a very solid romantic song that is not related with the other tracks.
Work:
This track kinda follows the vibes from the last one, telling us the story of a failed relationship due the inner demons of the boyfriend and the way he tries to solve things up.
Danger:
This one’s about living a life full of vices and luxury.
Bangarang:
Follows the same theme of success and luxury. My theory is that this two tracks are the “consequences” of the story that the first songs told us, they went from being broke to being rich and successful, having no self-control on their actions.
Coughing up Smoke:
This track retakes the romantic vibes to express how happy can be somebody in a relationship and the way his ex-girlfriend complemented his life and fit in it, repeating that she won’t get somebody that can love her as much as he did. Maybe a sequel to Work.
Mercy II:
I didn’t get this one at all tbh, but it has a pretty agressive style and bars that lead us to the thoughs and confessions of a very corrupted man (1/2)
trying to convince himself that he’s doing the right thing because he’s at the top of success, hiding his failures and all the stuff he had to do to be where he is (2/2).
Crash:
The outro of the album, which tell us with metaphores about a person who has lost his mind and wants to go back to his old self and old life.
Conclusion:
This albums has good ideas and solid concepts, as we can see in the R&B influenced songs (the romantic ones) but the rap songs sound out of place sometimes, and the story they are trying to tell is not coherent at all because it gets lost within the R&B tracks(1/2)
Shows potential of what this group can be in a future, but at it´s own is just a couple of a ideas executed in a way that makes them more a puzzle than actual stories, besides that, the overall sound and the lyrics carry the project and makes it really enjoyable if you like R&B.
